In 2011, Archives and Research Collections at Carleton University Library acquired Jacob Siskind’s personal items, papers, and photographs, as well as a collection of musical recordings. This collection was acquired for research in history of music in Ottawa and Montreal in the early 21st century, as well as studies in Journalism, Classical Music, Art History and Canadian Studies.
This exhibit introduces researchers to the Jacob Siskind fonds, giving a general overview of his contribution to Canadian classical music and journalism over the course of his forty-eight year career. The exhibit will touch on Siskind’s career, elucidated through his own words and those who his work touched as well as some aspects of his personal life. The exhibit will also illustrate how the Jacob Siskind fonds will enhance Carleton University’s music resources.
