Champlain on the Anishinabe Aki: Colloquium Archives The year 2013 marked the 400th anniversary of the journey of Samuel de Champlain, the French explorer and cartographer, up the Ottawa River and his encounter with the Anishinabeg, or Algonquin, people in the Ottawa-Gatineau region. As its contribution to the area’s Champlain 2013 heritage campaign, Carleton University hosted the “Champlain on the Anishinabe Aki” Colloquium, a two day conference held on September 19 and 20, 2013. |

The W. McAllister Johnson Collection The W. McAllister Johnson library is a collection of over 1,700 titles that emphasizes the institutions, like the French Royal Academy of Painting and Sculpture and the Louvre, that significantly shaped the discipline of Art History. The collection was donated to Carleton University by W. McAllister Johnson, a Professor Emeritus of Art History at the University of Toronto. This exhibit aims to present background and contextual information for highlights in the collection. |
