Carleton COVID-19 Archival Collection

Corporate Records and Archives and the Archives and Special Collections, MacOdrum Library, are partnering to establish a COVID-19 response collection. The collection, which will be invaluable to contemporary and future research, will preserve both official messaging and programs from the university as well as capturing social media, website, research, and community-based experiences from students, faculty, and staff.

In collecting and preserving COVID-19 response-related materials, Carleton’s archives are supported by the most recent joint statement of the International Council of Archives, UNESCO, the American Records Management Association (ARMA), the Digital Preservation Coalition, and others, which state that “the duty to document does not cease in a crisis, it becomes more essential.”

Over the ensuing months, departments and offices may be contacted by Corporate Archives staff to discuss transferring copies of COVID-19 specific material (correspondence, social media posts, brochures, etc.) to the archival collection. If you have questions about the Carleton COVID-19 Archival Collections or would like to contribute materials to the Collections, please contact:
